Our client is a concrete contractor headquartered in Cincinnati with 9 operating units in major metropolitan areas in central U.S. Each business unit has about 50 to 150 employees each and the entire company employs about 1,000 personnel.


JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Talent and Organizational Development is responsible for enhancing organizational effectiveness through developing, leading and executing talent and performance management strategies and practices to cultivate a high-performing organization.


KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership and direction for performance and talent management, leadership development and organizational effectiveness
• Develop and maintain performance management tools and related processes and ensure the execution of performance management processes throughout the year
• Roll out enhanced tools and processes via group facilitation, training and presentation to appropriate organizational audiences
• Work with key tiers of the organization on succession planning, talent development, and effective utilization of talent to ensure an adequate talent pipeline
• Develop and implement a framework for leadership and functional competencies
• Provide coaching to senior leaders and managers on critical competencies
• Consult with key leaders to address performance, organizational behavior and leadership development needs and gaps
• Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of leadership training and development programs by analyzing data and providing feedback and/or modifications as needed
• Serve as primary liaison with academic and professional organizations where needed to enhance the performance and talent management programs

IDEAL CANDIDATES’ QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree, MBA desirable
• 10 years of HR and organizational development experience
• Experience implementing and executing talent and performance management strategies
• Experience with a decentralized organization, in an operations oriented company. Experience in a construction/contracting environment would be helpful.
• Good communications skills and presentation/facilitation skills
• Strong leader with a bias toward action
