As an HR Specialist in our department of Human Resources, you will provide recruitment services, advice and counsel clients regarding Human Resources issues of employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, etc. according to personnel and medical center policies and applicable laws and regulations.
1. Recruiting and Placement: Conduct full life-cycle recruitment activities (sourcing, applicant assessment, selection, hiring and on boarding) for assigned divisions/positions within the medical center. Develop pipelines of qualified candidates for key positions. Advise and assist departments in selection decisions based on EEO/AA, fair employment practices, and other candidate performance success indicators. Comply with and support Cincinnati Children’s EEO/Affirmative Action efforts in recruitment and selection
2. Client Relationships: Develop understanding of client’s specific recruitment needs and maintain close, positive working relationships in order to provide guidance and make appropriate recommendations. Research and ensure resolution of individual employees’ and applicants’ problems. Counsel applicants regarding minimum requirements, career opportunities and transfer/promotion policy interpretation. Counsel employees in interpretation of employment policies and procedures, compensation related to transfer or promotional opportunities and career development.
3. Consulting: Coach and counsel managers on matters related to recruitment, employment selection and compensation and general management practices consistent with personnel policies and applicable employment laws such as ADA, FLSA, Title VII, etc. Develop, design and present human resources training related to a variety of employment topics. Present tools and resources to aid in candidate assessment and selection, such as behavioral based interviewing and testing resources. Assist departments with restructuring, reorganizing or reducing staff. Assist employees in transitioning to new positions or severing their employment with the medical center when necessary.
4. Quality Improvement: Keep abreast of changes in the field of Human Resources by maintaining currency and professional development through continuing education, literature and seminars. Recommend changes to policies and practices to enable Cincinnati Children’s to respond to regulatory changes, environmental changes and changes due to advancements in the field of Human Resources. Participate in change initiatives and efforts and in special projects, which assess, develop or implement initiatives of human resources, the medical center, or departmental specific initiatives.
Education/Work Experience
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline; and
• Minimum 3 years’ related experience within a Human Resources environment.
Preferred:
• Master’s Degree in a related discipline;
• PHR or SPHR certified;
• Experience working with Peoplesoft HRIS and an applicant tracking system.
