Description
CABVI is currently seeking a Manager of Agency Volunteer Services. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Development and Community Relations. The principal responsibilities for this position include:
- Manages volunteer service programs to meet the agency’s goals, including One-On-One Volunteer program, Radio Reading Services, Talking Book Machine program, Personalized Talking Print program, and agency volunteers.
- Directs and manages volunteer program managers and coordinators to ensure effective and proper recruitment, placement, retention, and supervision of all CABVI volunteers.
- Coordinates and ensures adequate volunteer resources for agency events and to complete various departmental projects.
- Creates and maintains recognition and communication mechanisms for volunteers and assists other departments in coordinating in-service training for volunteers
- Oversee record keeping and program evaluation system to measure results and effectiveness of agency volunteer programs.
- Develop and coordinate outreach strategies to increase community awareness and utilization of CABVI volunteer service programs.
- Serve as staff liaison to the Information Services Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Volunteer Advisory Committee.
- Completes special projects as needed and provides general support to Community Relations & Development
Applicants interested in being considered for this position should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, Organizational Leadership, Communication, or other relevant field.
- Working knowledge of volunteer management principles, interviewing and evaluation techniques, and relevant laws and regulations
- Demonstrated event planning experience is preferred
- At least 4 years of demonstrated experience in a management capacity; experience managing a volunteer program is preferred
- At least 2 years of demonstrated, successful supervisory experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Proficiency with Raisers Edge software preferred
- Experience interacting with blind and visually impaired individuals preferred
- Positive attitude and a sense of humor are a must
